Reseller Credits

How Many IPTV Reseller Credits Do You Need?

One of the first practical decisions a new reseller makes is how many credits to buy. Too few and you run out quickly; too many and capital is tied up in credits before you have customers to use them. Here is how to calculate the right starting amount.

Start With What You Know

If you already have customers lined up before purchasing your first package, the calculation is straightforward: add up the total credits needed for those subscriptions and that is your minimum. Add a buffer of 20–30% for new customers who come in before your next top-up.

If You Are Starting With Zero Customers

Start with the smallest package that makes sense financially — 50 or 100 credits — and build your customer base while using them. There is no point holding 1000 credits if you have no customers yet.

Calculating Your Monthly Credit Usage

Once you have been operating for a month or two, track how many credits you use per month. This is your average credit burn rate. Your next credit package should cover at least 2–3 months of credits at that burn rate, so you are not purchasing constantly.

Subscription Mix Matters

The mix of subscription durations you sell affects your credit usage pattern. Customers on 12-month subscriptions require 12 credits upfront but then do not need credits again for a year. Customers on 1-month subscriptions require 1 credit per month but consume credits more frequently. A mix of longer subscriptions improves credit usage predictability.

Credit Package Thresholds

The 500-credit package is the first that unlocks sub-reseller access. If building a sub-reseller network is part of your plan, factor in the minimum package required to unlock that feature.
